Today I want to introduce a flip-flop that looks top, is made of leather, has a great durability and is one of the most comfortable flip-flops you can get.

I am talking about the Olukai Hiapo. The name may not sound very spectacular but in fact, this sandal beats all of the leather sandals on the market.

Here and today, you can get them for only $77.99 right now, that is $32.00 less than the regular price.

The Hiapo is another child of the OluKai brand which stands for healthy footbed, certified by oncologists, and quality and comfort. This particular sandal stands out though by looking very special and being throughout made of real leather.

The OluKai Flip-Flops Under Sole

Hiapo Outer Sole
Hiapo Outer Sole

The under sole is constructed with molded rubber traction pods that are sewn in by hand with heavy duty thread.

It is not often that I look at an outer sole worked this nice and passionate. Each rubber pod is specially formed and fixed separately in the exact and necessary place. It’s almost a shame to use these beauties outside in the dirt.

They are made for the outside though. These flip-flops resist much more stress from use than anyone can think. About every use in the dry won’t hurt the Hiapo, you can even wear them to business meetings without looking cheap.

Once you wear this great looking handcrafted leather shoe for some time it will form onto your foot like a second skin. You will wear it for many years, if you don’t expose it to water too much, and can use it for almost any activities.

Style and Comfort

If you like a natural, nice smelling and western style looking flip-flop you are right on the spot here. Quality craftsmanship and high-quality leather come together in the Hiapo and leave you with a flip-flop that will turn heads and leave open mouths.

Look at this exclusive looking upper leather sole, a laser ached tattoo art, inspired by Polynesian Moko Tattoos decorates the fine leather which comes in different colors.

The also premium full-grain leather straps are decorated with hand-sewn whipstitching where a heavyweight thread is used and the OluKai Logo is embedded in the middle, fixing the comfortable hand sewed leather toe post.

For yourself, you have one of the most comfortable and stable sandals you will be able to find. The compression molded EVA footbed takes care of your feet, ankles, legs, and back. The full-grain leather wrapped footbed allows an automatically correct contour, which guarantees a personalized fit and lasting comfort for many years.

      Hi Simon.
I see you have good taste too. Someone that likes flip-flops, will love these. They are the Rolls Royce under the flip-flops.
As you saw, they are strongly reduced at the moment. Take the chance and save $30.00 Bucks, I promise you’ll not regret it.
Have a nice holiday and all the best for the new year.
      See you, Stefan 🙂

I am totally not a flip-flop person but I love the real leather. I probably could be persuaded to change my view on that one. I totally like the picture in the header – the shoes with the gold band. I like those.

Hi Lane, You got a good taste.
I love to look at these beautifully worked sandals. They can not really be compared to ordinary flip-flops. The quality and leather style is exceptional.
If I didn’t already have this many pairs, I think I would buy them right away.
The OluKai leather Hiapo is more like a luxury sandal with great comfort and long-lasting lifespan. If you don’t let them get wet too often you will be able to enjoy them for a century.
I wish you Lane all the best for these days and for the year to come.
      See you, Stefan 🙂

Looks like a great pair of flip-flops. It looks premium and is offered for a steal. And the company seems really great as they took time to respond to customer reviews. I am thinking of getting one. Do you recommend using it if I have to expose it to water occasionally?

Good morning Maggi. You will be very satisfied with the OluKai Hiapo. And the price is very good at the moment. For the water, occasionally OK but not every day. You might check out the Hiapo OluKai if you get wet a lot but still want a flip-flop of the best quality and arch support.
I wish you very nice holidays and all the best for the new year.
      See you Stefan 🙂

Flip-flops are the way to go (unless you are at work) during summer. However, it is important to find a pair that is comfortable as you may be walking around quite a bit. I tried cheaper alternatives, and my conclusion is that the casual flip-flops we wear at home or to the bathrooms are definitely NOT what you want to wear outside. After a while, your feet really hurt. Thanks for sharing the Olukai brand. It is new to me, but they look very promising and I will dive deeper into it. You mentioned it can be exposed to water but not too much. Is there an issue wearing this to the beach? Example, if I go Phuket or Bali?

Hey Jude, nice to see you. I wear them for work as well 🙂 Especially, the OluKai Hiapo can be worn for office work or in public service and so on at many places. they are clean and look classy. I have seen doctors and nurses wear flip-flops in hospitals many times.
To wear them in Bali or Phuket is actually no problem as long as you be careful that they don’t get stolen 🙂 They have no problems with the beach, just don’t let them get wet too often, the leather doesn’t like that very much. there is an alternative though, you can have an OluKai for all conditions, the “Ohana“. They are some of the best as well and even a bit cheaper.
See you, have a great holiday Stefan 🙂
